D'OR24K Multi-Vitamin Recovery Day Cream and Facial Peel

D'OR24K provides a luxe skincare experience for everyone. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work with D'OR24K through BrandBacker. They sent me their Recovery Day Cream and Facial Peel to try.

D'OR24K is a luxury skincare company based in Miami. Their products are made in the United States and these two products are paraben free, FDA compliant, and not tested on animals. Multi-Vitamin Recovery Day Cream and Facial Peel contain 24K gold which is said to support skin's natural collagen production. Lately, it seems like most skincare products on the market contain gold. I was very skeptical when these two products touted that they contained gold as it seems kind of gimicky. Gold in skincare can promote collagen production and give a healthy glow to the skin. However, there are those who claim that it may not have longterm effects on the skin. The facial peel is an exfoliant and the day cream is a facial moisturizer that is supposed to be used 2x day.

D'OR24K claims:

D'OR 24K Facial Peel (1.7 fluid ounces)

* Exfoliates dead skin damaged by pollution, blemishes, stress, and oxidation, to reveal the soft, fresh skin below
* Reveals a new elasticity and texture leaving skin feeling smoother, firmer, and more youthful
* Unique ability to attract moisture and stimulate healthy collagen production, even in dry or sun damaged skin
* Improves skin's texture and tone, skin will continue to improve as you stimulate collagen growth

D'OR 24K Multi-Vitamin Recovery Day Cream (1.7 fluid ounces)

* A highly-concentrated cream infused with actual, precious 24-karat gold
* Supports your skin's natural collagen production, which helps it appear younger, healthier, and more beautiful
* Melts away fine lines and wrinkles
* Infused with green tea to protect your skin from sun damage while reducing inflammation and building collagen

These two products retail at a whopping $195 each which can be a call for concern as unlike high end skincare brands that you can find at Sephora, you can't get a sample of these products so you have to buy them without knowing how they'll interact with your skin. The packaging is very luxe, they come in separate boxes. The packaging is made of heavy sturdy glass and it comes with a plastic utensil to scoop up product.

The facial peel has a thick gel consistency and it contains small flecks of gold. The facial peel contains AHA which is supposed to help exfoliate your skin. I find that it is a very light exfoliant and it didn't irritate my skin. The facial peel is very simple to use and you apply it on your face, rub it in circular motions, and rinse off. I've been using it for about two weeks and I haven't seen any noticeable difference however; my skin is acne prone and this peel isn't intended to treat acne. I do find that my skin looks glowy and feels very soft after using it.

The Multi-Vitamin Recovery Day Cream contains 24K gold, green tea, and jojoba oil. It's a thick cream moisturizer and it does feel a little greasy but it sinks into the skin quickly. In general, the moisturizer and facial peel are good- however, I don't think that its worth the hefty price tag. A great alternative is the Peter Roth 24K Gold line.

Ebay/Aliexpress/Amazon Haul

Ebay is bae and I love searching for good deals on ebay, amazon, and aliexpress. This is actually my first aliexpress haul and I've been hooked ever since.

I'm opposed to buying counterfeit makeup for obvious reasons, if you aren't aware of them then check out this post. However, I do like less expensive versions of higher end things. I love Rihanna and I had been wanting to get my hands on her slides for the longest but I could not justify spending $90 on a pair of foam slides, TBH. So I decided to get a pair from Aliexpress for $24. The quality appears to be just the same as the real ones and I am very pleased with this purchase. I also got a set of Zoeva brushes from Aliexpress because the real ones are a little too pricey- these are very soft and there is a wide range of brushes for various functions (brow, liner, blending etc).

From ebay, I bought a couple of cute phone cases. Also, I got a foot peel mask as my feet are in need of major TLC due to the winter weather. Plus, soft cute feet is so important. I will have a review coming up very soon on this! In addition, I got a marble phone case so I can better fit in with the Instagram marble flat lay aesthetic JK- but its cute right? I'm obsessed with press on nails and nails in general- this big case of press on nails quench that obsession. Its an amazing deal as it brings 500 PCS so its enough for 50 manis for less than $11. This is a must try if you're into press on nails.

Above are links to each of the products mentioned. Unfortunately, the fenty slides that I bought are no longer available but I posted a link from another vendor.

Indie Love: Lonely Planet Liquid Lipsticks | Review & Swatches

While I was on my journey to find my favorite liquid lipstick brand I stumbled upon these lippies. Lately, I've been into trying Indie brands and this post is another addition to my Indie Love series on my blog.

Lonely Planet is an Indie brand run by Navil Rico on Etsy. These lipsticks are rocknroll inspired and are 100% handcrafted. Lonely Planet boasts a large selection of liquid lipstick shades and finishes. Plus most of their lipsticks if not all are vegan! LP's liquid lipsticks retail for $12 but you can get them for less during their holiday sales.

I must admit that these liquid lipsticks are one of the most comfortable liquid lipsticks I own. They are very pigmented and apply effortlessly. I love how comfortable they feel on the lips and they aren't overly drying. However, one drawback is that they aren't transfer-proof so if you're looking a lipstick that won't budge then this may not your cup of tea. Despite this, I do find that they wear well during the day. Mind you, as with all liquid lipsticks, make sure you exfoliate and moisturize your lips well before applying this so it looks its best.

I purchased 4 shades and I'm in love with all 4 of them.

Solo in Soho is a true blue red- this looks beautiful on everyone. Everyone needs a lipstick like this in their collection.

Lori is described as a burnt orange red and I love how flattering it is on my skin tone- this shade is great for those who want to experiment with orange lipsticks as it is not too bright and out there.

Debbie is described as a universal nude and it is basically my MLBB color. I truly do think that this color will suit most skin tones.

Chatterbox is a metallic copper shade. I bought this shade because this color is very popular and very inexpensive compared to other brands. I like the color but this is a bit on the sheer side so for an opaque finish you'll need to add a few layers.

Lonely Planet is easily one of my top favorite liquid lipstick brands and I recommend you check them  out- especially since the Holiday sales are approaching.
