Travel Packing Tips!

After all the stress and excitement of searching and booking your much needed vacation you realize that you have to pack your suitcase. You spend ages wondering what is the weather is like and what fab outfits you should pack. Then reality hits you- you have to pack light because airlines nowadays charge an arm and a leg for luggage. So you have to pack everything you want to bring in your suitcase and make sure it’s not over the weight limit because you’re not trying to pay all those extra fees that those pesky airlines want to charge.

Here are some packing tips to make this stressful experience a little easier.

Roll your clothes!

Rolling your clothes will save up so much space in your suitcase rather than just folding it.
Layer your clothing!
Try to just bring one or two jackets on your trip. Jackets will take up space in your suitcase and it really helps to bring more blouses and tops and then layer with a jacket.

Take advantage of travel friendly products!

Every store has a travel product aisle. I love buying those fun-sized face washes, toothpaste, hair conditioners and shampoos and they are much more practical than packing your big shampoo and conditioner that is in your shower. When it comes to makeup there are also travel sized products. For instance, if you want to save space in your makeup bag you can buy tiny makeup palettes. Yes, they exist.
Source-Ulta.com

I saw this little guy while shopping at Ulta a couple weeks ago. It is Smashbox’s Mini Full Exposure Palette. Its super tiny-about the size of a business card and it has 8 neutral shades. 4 shimmers and 4 mattes. This palette is amazing and super functional. It saves sooo much space in your makeup bag.

Bring multipurpose products!

Source- DLC Labs

If you want to save space in your suitcase bring products that have more than one purpose. For instance, I always make sure to bring my sweet almond oil with me because I can use it for so many things. I can use it to remove my makeup, facial moisturizer and body moisturizer. You could also bring a makeup palette that contains eyeshadows ,bronzer and blush and that saves up so much space.

Bring versatile clothing items!

Source: Dailylook

Do you really need to bring pairs of pink, red and blue heels? It’s best to bring shoes that will match with most of your outfits so neutrals are your best bet like nude or black. A pair of nude or black heels, flats and sandals- you’re good to go.

Packing is so hard to do because you’re visualizing yourself wearing so many different outfits and you want to be prepared for various different occasions. It’s essential that when you’re packing your clothes you know what you’re going to pair everything with and that way you’ll be sure of what to bring.
I hope these tips helped you.

Christmas Nail Art #2

Out of all of the holidays of the year I love Christmas which is kind of weird of me to say because I am  not that person who loves to hear Christmas songs and all of that stuff. I guess its my favorite holiday because its a very joyful time of the year and a perfect time to be with family and that's what I love the most.

I went pretty crazy with my nail art this time considering I did different things on each finger but I can definitely tell I was in the Christmas spirit while doing this. I did a candy cane, a reindeer, Santa's coat, a snowflake and Christmas lights. I'm very impressed with this look and I got a ton of compliments on them.

It's pretty easy to do and you don't need any tools to do this. Bobby pins, nail polish and a toothpick will do. I had some nail polish strippers so that helped me but I also used toothpicks to draw the straight lines. I used the round ends of bobby pins to create dots so you definitely don't need any nail art tools to do this.

Candy Cane: I painted my nails red with Wet n Wild's "I Red a Good Book" and then I used a white nail polish striper and I drew diagonal white lines across the nail.

Reindeer: I painted my nails white with Milani's "White on the Spot" then painted almost half of the nail with a brown polish, Naturistic's "Jammin' Java Creme". Then I used a toothpick and drew the antlers with the same brown polish. After that I used the white polish and with one rounded end of a bobby pin I did two white dots for the eyes then I used Wet n Wild's "Ebony hates Chris" and dotted over the white. For the nose I used Wet n Wild's "I Red a Good Book" and dotted that with the bobby pin.

Santa's Coat: I painted my nails red with Wet n Wild's "I Red a Good Book". I drew one white vertical line with the white nail polish striper and a horizontal line on the top of the nail. Then I took a black nail polish striper and drew a horizontal line in the center. When that dried I took my toothpick and dabbed it into a gold glitter polish, Sinful Color's "All About You" and created a little square in the center of the black line.

Snowflake: I painted my nails blue with Nicole by OPI "Nothing Kim-Pares to Blue" then I painted one vertical line with my white nail polish striper and then two diagonal intersecting lines like an *. Next, I took my bobby pin and dipped the end in white nail polish and created a dot on each end of the line and then created 3 dots on the bottom of the nail.

Christmas lights: I painted my nails white then I created a squiggly black line with my toothpick and black nail polish. Then I used a few colors and made dots with bobby pin on the line to resemble lights. I used a blue which was Revlon's Gel Envy nail polish in "Wild Card", a pastel green which was Sinful Color's "Song of Summer", Wet n Wild's "I Red a Good Book" and Sally Hansen's Insta Dri in "Sonic Bloom".

Don't forget to top it all off with your favorite top coat for shine and protection!
You can definitely just do one design or do all of them. I like how fun they are and I had a fun time doing this nail art- it helped distract me from all the exam finals stress.

Which design was your favorite?
How are you rocking your nails for the holidays?

Happy holidays,
Liz

Christmas Holiday Nails!

December is my favorite month of the year for a two reasons: the holidays and my birthday. I love doing Christmas nail art and its becoming sort of a tradition for me.

For those who want to have their nails on FLEEK for the holidays but do not have the time to be doing all of that nail art, this is a simpler option.

I used Inm clear bond base coat then I applied a red nail polish. I used Avon matte nail polish in "Red Velvet" but I don't really like matte nails so I applied a top coat over it, Sally Hansen Super Shine top coat. After the top coat dried I applied one coat of Sinful Colors nail polish in "All About You", its a super fine gold glitter polish. Then I layered Wet n Wild's Mega Rocks Glitter nail polish in "Waiting for My Solo" on top of that. To top it all off I applied another layer of top coat and voila!

I love doing this kind of nail art because it looks like you did a lot but it doesn't really require too much work. I also love how the glitter reflects light- it makes your nails look so pretty.

What are you looking forward to the most for the holidays?

Love,

Wet N Wild Megalast Nail Polish in "Wet Cement"

Review of Wet n Wild megalast nail polish in wet cement
It's been a long time since I have posted a nail post. This post is dedicated to my favorite nail polish line EVER, Wet n Wild. Seriously, I say this in all of my wet n wild posts for good reason. Wnw has cheap and fantastic quality products.
Wet Cement is a must have shade if I do say so myself. It's actually one of the most popular shades. It is a mauve-grey color with no shimmer and its a creme finish.
Creme finish = nail polish heaven for me.
I adore the color and the fact that it is a creme finish. It lasts me about 4-5 days without chipping. Wet Cement is really one of those shades that are perfect for fall and winter and I find myself using this polish very frequently.

What is your go to A/W shade?

Review: L'oreal Miss Manga Mascara

Loreal Miss Manga Mascara in Blackest Black
Continuing my hunt for the perfect mascara that will give me that false lash look is Loreal Miss Manga Mascara in Blackest Black. I mentioned this mascara in my November favorites post (Read it here). I purchased this mascara because I needed a better one- I had a Rimmel one and I hated the brush on it. I bought this at Walmart for $6.97.
This mascara features a "360 flexor brush to build bold volume with high intensity from top to bottom". It is a thin brush and its a flexor brush, its like most mascaras whose brush bends. Nothing special and honestly I don't see the point of it. Anyway, I love the brush- it isn't too big for my lashes so it gets the job done. It's the perfect size for my upper and lower lashes.

Here are my bare lashes.
BAM! Here is the result. My lashes look significantly longer, more volume, and darker. I really love how my lashes look and it definitely gives me that false eyelash look that I adore. This mascara lasts all day but I do notice some flaking after about 8 hours of wear but it isn't a big deal.

What is your favorite mascara?

Top Fall/Winter Lipsticks!

Mac Rihanna VG II, Maybelline Matte Lipsticks in Craving Coral and Touch of Spice, L.A Girl Glazed Lippaint in Tempt, Mac Ruby Woo, NYX Soft Matte Lipcream in Zurich and Jordana Lipliners in Cabernet and Coco Loco
Fall and winter are my favorite seasons. I love the cooler weather, the holidays and my birthday! I wanted to share with you all my favorite lipsticks for Fall & Winter. I included various shades of lipsticks from natural to bold and bright because I live for bold lips- I'm more likely to do a bold lip than a bold eye look.
First off, is MAC Rihanna Viva Glam II (Check out my review & swatches here). It is a mauvey-grey lipstick that is super versatile as it looks somewhat different on ladies (on some ladies it looks more grey whereas others it looks brownish-grey) and you can change it up by using a lipliner underneath. I have been obsessed with Maybelline's collection of matte lipsticks- they aren't true mattes but it doesn't matter because they are lovely on the lips and they are not drying. People tend to gravitate to dark lip colors and nudes for fall and winter but I feel like bright colors such as "Craving Coral" are appropriate as well. "Craving Coral" is a gorgeous bright orange color that looks great on most skin tones. If you want to try a bold orange lip but you're afraid, give this one a try. "Touch of Spice" is that Kylie Jenner lip that everyone is obsessed with- its a brown-pink lipstick that I can't get enough of. I love dark lipcolors for fall so when I saw L.A Girl Glazed Lip Paint in Tempt I had to get it. L.A Girl lip paints are very hyped up and for good reason, they are supposed to be dupes for Too Faced Melted Lipsticks. "Tempt" is a dark purple that is buildable- one light coat looks like a berry-purple color and when built up its a glossy dark purple.
A classic red like "Ruby Woo" is a must have; perfect for holiday parties and dressing up outfits. A blue-based red like "Ruby Woo" is perfect for everyone. An awesome nude color is NYX Soft Matte Lipcream in "Zurich" is my favorite nude lipcolor without washing me out.
Jordana Retractable Lip Pencil in Cabernet and Coco Loco are my favorite lip pencils. They are very pigmented- "Cabernet" is a dark berry and "Coco Loco" is a pretty chocolate brown color. I feel like "Coco Loco" is a similar dupe to Limecrime Salem Velvetine because of color, in terms of formulation they are completely different. I have been pairing these lip liners with VG II and I love the way it looks.

Tresemme Keratin Smooth 7 day smooth- Influenster Voxbox

Tresemme Keratin Smooth Influenster Voxbox
Tresemme Keratin Smooth 7 day system
I recently received a tresemme voxbox from Influenster to try and review. For those who aren't familiar with Influenster, it basically is a website where you join for free and they send out products for their members to try. The voxboxes that they send vary and the ones you may receive depend on your interests. For instance, I like beauty so I have been receiving mostly beauty related voxboxes.
I'm very excited to have been able to receive this box because I love straight hair. I have wavy/curly hair but I feel like I look my best when my hair is straight. It is really hard for me to maintain my straight hair because my hair curls up very easily. The humidity wrecks havoc on my hair as well. My hair could be styled to perfection but as soon as I step outside it will frizz up.
My current collection has been doing wonders for me but I'm interested in seeing if this collection will live up to its claims with my difficult hair.

This voxbox includes:
Tresemme Keratin Smooth Shampoo
Tresemme Keratin Smooth Conditioner
Tresemme Keratin Smooth Serum

"Infused with Keratin and made with lower sulfates**, this product gently cleanses and removes impurities. For 7 Days of salon-smooth styles*, use as the first step with 7 Day Keratin Smooth Conditioner and 7 Day Heat Activated Treatment. Gentle enough for everyday use and on color treated hair"

I can't wait to start using this system and I hope it does what it's supposed to do. In two weeks I'll be traveling to Colombia. The city I'm going to is very hot and humid so I'll be definitely be putting these bad boys to the test.

Have you tried this system?
What do you think?

** I received these products from Influenster for testing purposes. All thoughts are my own.

November 2014 Favorites!

November 2014 favorites- Fantasia Hair Straightening Serum, Nyx Blush, Loreal Miss Manga Mascara, Sleek Face Form, Maybelline Nail Polish

I have been MIA with the Favorites posts and I feel terrible but its so difficult to decide which are my favorite products each month- its probably like picking your favorite child (I'm kidding). After much thought and hair-pulling I managed to pick my favorite products of November.

Fantasia Hair Protector Straightening Serum- I suffer from split ends and I don't really understand why. I know that flat ironing my hair is bad but I only do it once a week. Anyway, while I was at the hair salon a few weeks ago the hairstylist recommended this product. I absolutely love this product. It protects my hair, gives it amazing shine and it helps against frizz! Seriously, this is the best product that I have tried for frizz. Whenever it would rain my hair would poof but not anymore plus you get a lot of product for the price you pay.
NYX blush in "Terracotta"- I have been using this blush almost everyday for the past 2 months and I can't believe that I haven't even made a dent in it. It's a pretty warm golden blush with shimmer similar to "Warm Soul" by MAC.
Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish in "Deep in Violet"- This is a beautiful fall/winter shade. It is a dark purple with shimmer. I'm starting to love Maybelline nail polishes, they have a large selection at a great price.
L'oreal Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara- I purchased this mascara due to the fiasco of the Rimmel mascara that I reviewed a week ago. It was on sale at Walmart for $6.97 so I figured why not. I'm glad I picked this up because I totally love it. It lengthens and gives so much volume to my lashes so well and it only takes one coat.
November 2014 favorites- Nyx blush terracotta and sleek face form kit

Sleek Face Form Kit in "Medium"- This kit brings a contour, highlighter, and bronzer. I like the contour and highlight but the bronzer is too orange for my liking. The contour is amazing and you only need a little bit and it blends very well.

Maybelline Color Sensational The Mattes: Divine Wine

MAYBELLINE COLOR SENSATIONAL MATTE LIPSTICK IN DIVINE WINE

Divine Wine is from "The Creamy Mattes" collection of the Color Sensational range of lipsticks. They come in the usual Color Sensational Lipstick packaging but the top is a frosted purple color. Maybelline claims: "Maybelline New York The Creamy Mattes by Color Sensational deliver a burst of bold lip color and a surge of creamy texture in make-a-statement shades, for mattes your lips will love to wear!"
Maybelline Color Sensational The Mattes in Divine Wine: Swatches and Review

These lipsticks are supposed to be matte but not drying on the lips due to the fact that it isnt a true matte like MAC matte lipsticks. Divine Wine is a beautiful dark wine color- perfect for fall. It is long wearing and it lasted approximately 4 hours. Keep in mind, you have to exfoliate your lips and moisturize your lips before wearing this because it will cling to your dry patches. I was very pleasantly surprised that it did not feel drying on my lips. It didn't dry my lips out and during the first couple hours I could rub my lips together and it didn't feel like it was tugging on my lips. Also, it's very pigmented, I only needed two swipes on my lips. This color has become one of my favorite dark lipsticks and I'm probably going to pick up more shades from this line because I love the formulation.

MAC Keepsakes: Rihanna Viva Glamorous Lipsticks

I love Rihanna so when this holiday kit launched I had to have it. Mainly for Rihanna Viva Glam II lipstick, I love bold lip colors and this lipstick is so different and I dig it.

These two lipsticks come in a red glitter bag, it is really cute and I'm definitely going to use it as a makeup bag.

Rihanna Viva Glam is described as a frosty blue red but on me it looks orangey-red. It took 3 swipes to get this pigmentation.

Rihanna VG II is described as a frosty warm mauvey silver. On me it looks mauvey-grey (I applied about 3 swipes) but on other ladies it looks much more grey or brownish-grey. I think this lippie would look fantastic on WOC because it shows up brownish-grey and it looks beautiful on them. This lipstick would look fab paired with Warm Soul blush and a gold eye. The cool thing about this lipstick is that you can pair it with different lipliners and get a different color. I'm planning on using a brown and dark purple lipliner with it.

I got 3 hours of wear with these lipsticks and they do not feel drying at all. However, they transfer so you do have to retouch after eating.
It is so obvious that I love VG II and it's the only reason why I picked this up. I purchased this for $30 and it is a great deal because each lipstick is $16 and plus you get a cool makeup bag for free. Oh, and every cent goes towards helping women, men and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS!

Rimmel Scandaleyes Rockin Curves Mascara Review

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Rockin Curves Mascara
Rimmel mascaras are so good to my eyelashes. The formula is amazing and so far I haven't come across a Rimmel mascara that I didn't like. So when I saw this mascara at the drugstore I wanted to try it.
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Rockin Curves Mascara
This mascara promises to give volume and lift to lashes. What sets this mascara apart from others is its brush. It is a curved brush in the shape of a half "broken heart". Its a really strange shape. Unfortunately, this brush is the reason why I don't like this mascara. Its way too big for my eyes and the mascara gets on my lids if I'm not careful. It takes me a lot longer to apply my mascara because I have to ensure that no mascara gets on my lids (& I don't poke my eye out in the process). No bueno. I do like the formula though, it does add a nice volume to my lashes.
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Rockin Curves Mascara

After one coat
I just wish that companies would stop messing with brush designs and start working on formulas. These big weird shaped brushes are not doing anything for my lashes and small normal sized brushes get the job done well. I don't want a mascara with a brush that I have to be careful with.

Nyx Matte Lipstick in Euro Trash

Nyx Matte Lipstick in Euro Trash
I purchased this lipstick after seeing a review on it and on the bblogger's lips it looked a lot like the famous Kylie Jenner lip look (MAC Whirl lipliner & MAC Velvet Teddy lipstick). I love pinky-brown lipsticks because they look flattering on me so I had to go try it. I picked it up at Harmon.

Euro Trash is a dark pinky-brown lipstick. It isn't a true matte finish but I don't mind because this lipstick isn't drying like most matte lipsticks are. As with most matte lipsticks it is best if you exfoliate and moisturize your lips before you wear this. I really like the formulation of this lippie because it isn't drying and it lasts on my lips for about 3-4 hours easily.
Euro Trash is basically my MLBB shade- it definitely doesn't look like the lipstick that Kylie wears but I have seen this on fairer skin ladies and it looks very similar to the lip combo that Kylie wears. If you're interested in Kylie's famous lip look but you don't want to spend $15 on a lip liner and $16 on a lipstick then give this lipstick a try. On tanner ladies this lipstick is a pretty nude color or MLBB shade- I tend to wear this lippie on days when I wear minimal makeup or a bold eye.

Nyx has 33 colors in this Matte collection and I plan on getting more colors!

Review & Swatches: NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams

Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams
From left to right: Antwerp, Copenhagen, San Paolo, Zurich and Milan

Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream swatches
Swatches from left to right: Antwerp, Copenhagen, San Paolo, Zurich and Milan
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creams are basically a liquid lipstick with a creamy texture on the lips. The scent may be a hit or miss for some as it smells very sweet, it reminds me of frosting. Personally, I love the scent. It comes with a doe foot applicator which helps apply the product very well. You basically apply it and it will dry within a minute to a matte finish. I find that they are not very drying compared to other matte lipsticks but you definitely want to exfoliate and moisturize your lips prior to applying as it will definitely show off the dry patches on your lips. Honestly, you should do this with any lippie.

I was able to wear it for four hours before it began to dry my lips. I also drank with it on and it did transfer however the color still remains on your lips.

I love most of these shades with Zurich being my most favorite because it's my perfect everyday lippie. I love Copenhagen because it's an awesome lippie for fall. My least fave is Milan because I feel as it is a touch too light for me but I can probably make it work if I use a lip pencil underneath.
They retail for approximately $6 but you can get it cheaper at Target, Harmon and sites like ebay and cherryculture.com. In addition, Ulta periodically holds sales on Nyx so you could also get it cheaper there as well. I purchased two sets of three for about $10 each on ebay.

Lip Swatches!
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Sao Paulo
Sao Paulo is a warm berry pink color- its basically my perfect pink lipstick and its one of my faves.
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Milan
Milan is a cool light pink color. It's one of my least favorites because I feel likes its too light for me. I haven't worn this color much.
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Zurich
Zurich is a muted pink nude color. I absolutely love this color, it isn't too light on me so it has become my favorite nude lippie. Perfect for everyday wear.
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Copenhagen
Copenhagen is a deep wine color. It has become a fan favorite among many ladies. I LOVE this color although its very similar to other lippies that I have. I have a thing for dark lipsticks. You have to be careful when applying this color so it doesn't look messy.
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Antwerp
Antwerp is a mid tone coral-pink color. It isn't a bright coral so its very wearable and it looks a little similar to Sao Paulo on me.

Sao Paulo, Copenhagen and Zurich are my favorites and I definitely plan on getting more of these lip creams. I want to try Transylvania and Prague. I love the formulation and any lipstick that is long wearing automatically becomes an HG. I totally recommend these lip creams and I'm sure you'll find a color that you'll like as there about more than 20 shades in this collection!

Wet n Wild Megalast Matte Nail Polish in "So Berry on Trend"

Wet n Wild Megalast Matte Nail Polish in "So Berry on Trend"
It's no secret that Wet n Wild is my favorite drugstore brand so when I saw this display I had to take a closer look. This particular shade appealed to me the most as it's a beautiful red/plum shade and perfect fall shade.
So Berry on Trend is a  matte red/plum. To me, it isn't really a true matte finish- its kind of satin. It dries very quickly and I applied two coats. After that I applied NYC matte top coat to ensure that it will stay on my nails. I'm not sure if its the top coat or the nail polish formula but after a few days it goes from matte to a little shiny. Nevertheless, it is a lovely color and it lasted 5 days on my nails with minimal wear on the tips.
The matte nail polishes are in almost the same packaging as the regular megalast nail polishes except that the handle is matte which is a cool touch. These matte nail polishes are a LE fall collection along with a few eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks. Unfortunately, I have not been able to spot the eyeshadows or lippies however, if you're interested you can find them on ebay. I'm hopeful that I'll find them in store and I'll save a couple of bucks instead of buying them online as the online prices are more expensive.
I purchased this at Harmon for $1.79.

Milani Constellation Gel Eye Liner in Enchanted Lapis

MILANI CONSTELLATION GEL EYE LINER ENCHANTED LAPIS

MILANI CONSTELLATION GEL EYE LINER ENCHANTED LAPIS

So lately I have been going a little crazy indulging my inner makeup addict. I kind of went on a no buy during the summer. Actually, I just bought a little bit of makeup here and there- let's be honest.
Last week, I went to Walgreens and I saw this on the Milani display and I had to go see what this was about. I have never seen a product like this before. It is one of Milani's new products: Milani Constellation Gel Eyeliner. There are three shades available and I picked up the shade Enchanted Lapis. It was such a tough decision as all of them were so beautiful!
MILANI CONSTELLATION GEL EYE LINER ENCHANTED LAPIS

I purchased it for $5.99 and it is on sale at Walgreens. The eyeliner is so beautiful and the packaging is lovely as well. It is plastic with gold which makes it looks so high-end and it comes with a small gold and black eyeliner brush.

MILANI CONSTELLATION GEL EYE LINER ENCHANTED LAPIS

MILANI CONSTELLATION GEL EYE LINER ENCHANTED LAPIS
Unfortunately, the shimmer is just an over spray and Enchanted Lapis is a gorgeous rich dark blue color- I am head over heels in love with this color! The shimmer over spray reminds of a galaxy and galaxy nail art! LOL

Milani claims that this eyeliner is "long wearing and smooth-gliding gel eyeliner" They also claim that it can be worn as a cat eye or as a smokey look. I wanted to share this product with you all because it's so cool.

UPDATE & Blog name change!

Hello dolls!

This update post is to discuss a few changes on the blog. Lately, I fell into a rut with the blog. I just felt like I was not entirely pleased with it. I created my blog in several months ago under the name of The Bronzed Doll- which I loved but I have decided to change it. I changed my blog name to 50 Shades of Liz because I like it more than my old blog name. I also changed my blog header and I purchased it from Style Point Design on Etsy. I am in love with it and I bought it at an awesome price! Although, I'm happy with the new change, I am also kind of bummed that I have lost all of my bloglovin followers and comments since I changed the blog url.  A tip for someone who is considering changing their blog name is to do it as soon as possible if you're serious about it as you will essentially have to start from scratch.
I like the new direction that my blog is heading in and with that being said I'm planning a ton of new posts- nails, nail art, makeup swatches and reviews!
Another thing is that I have started my junior year of college this year so I don't have enough time to post twice a week like I did this summer. I will try my best to post at least once a week.
I have a few posts planned that I'm excited to share with you all in the next few weeks because it feels like it's been a long time since I have posted on the blog.

What do you think of the new change?
Do you like it?

Love,
Liz

Chessboard nails!

Chessboard nail art
Yes, I know another black and white nail art post.
Next time I do another nail art post it will incorporate some color.
For this look, I painted my nails white (Milani's white nail polish in white on the spot). When that dried I took a black striper and I painted one vertical line and one horizontal line in the middle. Then I filled in with black nail polish (Wet n Wild's Ebony hates Chris). After it all dried I applied Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Diamond Top Coat to add shine. I'm really impressed with this top coat as it adds so much shine- I'm in love with this top coat!

August Favorites!

August Monthly favorites featuring nyx dewy setting spray, garnier bb cream, e.l.f eyebrow kit and revlon gel envy nail polish products

It has been a LONG time since I have last posted a monthly favorites post and I apologize. It is due to the fact that I am always indecisive when it comes to a product. I go through phases when I first buy a product where I am head over heels in love with it then I begin to think that this product isn't all its cracked up to be. It usually takes me a month for me to decide how I feel about a product- sometimes a little longer.

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Polish in "Wild Card"- I LOVE this color- it is so bold and it looks fabulous on my nails. I also love how  long it lasts on my nails without chipping. Overall, it is the perfect summer shade and I want to get the most wear out of it before summer is over. Check out my review of it here.
Nyx Dewy Finish Setting Spray- I purchased this in May and it took me this long for me to realize that I like it because I was afraid that it was causing my skin to breakout so I put it aside and I didn't use it for a few weeks. This setting spray has become my favorite because it does not cause me to breakout and I only need to spray it a couple of times on my face to set my makeup. It gives me a lovely dewy finish and it does not leave my face looking like an oil slick which is a huge issue that I have with products that leave a dewy finish because I have oily skin. Also, it does a great job at setting my makeup and making it look great during the entire day- I find that my foundation and concealer don't fade throughout the day. It has become a staple in my everyday makeup bag.
Garnier BB Cream in Medium/Deep- I purchased this at Target in July for about $6 (SCORE). I picked this up because it is too hot in the summer to wear foundation and although I don't want to wear foundation I still want some coverage. The coverage is light to medium and it is definitely buildable. The consistency is sort of thick- it is not runny and I prefer to apply it with my fingers. This BB cream looks so natural on and I don't have issues with it making my skin more oily.
e.l.f Studio Eyebrow Kit in Medium- I randomly purchased this at Target when I bought the Garnier BB cream. I blame it on the whole 'going to target for one thing and leaving with a ton of other stuff' that everyone tends to suffer from. I don't regret buying this at all. To be honest, my brows are not sparse and I don't need to fill them in but I like them looking a little darker. I use the gel side to fill them in slightly and then I use the powder to set them in place. My brows stay in place and they do not budge! I can safely say that my eyebrow game is ON POINT!
