SWATCH & REVIEW: MAC Heroine Lipstick

One of the most popular MAC shades. I have seen this all over social media and other bloggers raving about this lipstick so I had to see what all the hype was about. I love bright bold lipsticks so this was a must have.
MAC describes this as a matte bright purple lipstick. I picked this up right away at the MAC store because the MUA told me that this is one of the shades that sells out very quickly.

MAC Heroine
I purchased this for $16. It is a matte finish and it has that signature MAC vanilla color that you either love or hate (I actually love it). Although it is matte it feels really nice on the lips- it does not feel drying and it doesn't pull while applying. It is pigmented and beware that when you take it off it will stain your lips.

If you like purple lips but are afraid of how it will look on you then I suggest pairing it with winged eyeliner so it does not look overwhelming. MAC Heroine can definitely suit all skin tones so I recommend that you try it on next time at the MAC store- you will definitely like it!

NOTW: Revlon Nail Art StyleStrips in "Eye Candy"

Nail strips are ideal if you're new to nail art or simply don't have the time to do your nails. Most nail strips have beautiful patterns and designs that are easy to apply. Another cool thing is that you don't have to deal with the mess!
I saw these at local dollar tree and I love going there periodically because I like to take a look at their beauty section. They sometimes have Revlon, elf, or other drugstore brands and I buy them at a great bargain! I bought this for $1 and I believe these are no longer sold at drugstores so I picked up all of the other designs that they had.
I love glitter so I used this one first- it is a silver glitter with a purple ombre effect at the tips. It contains 16 strips, a nail file and a cuticle stick. They are easy to apply and I found that they fit my nails well. The trick to applying them is to smooth down the strip completely and then file the excess off with the nail file. After that I applied my favorite clear coat nail polish.
In person it looks a lot brighter and I love how it looks like I spent a lot of time doing my nails when in reality I just applied some nail strips.

If you are interested in these nail strips then I recommend searching online because there are a few websites that still sell these or you can check out your local dollar tree store.

SWATCH & REVIEW: MAC Dangerous Lipstick

Orange lips are very trendy and are perfect for spring and summer.  I purchased this one because I loved the color and was impressed with the pigmentation. It is a retro matte lipstick and MAC describes this lipstick as a matte orangey-red. It has the familiar vanilla scent that MAC lipsticks are known for.
I love Dangerous because it is a lovely bold color and I am sure that this lipstick will look great on any skin tone from fair to dark. It is also very pigmented, just a couple swipes are enough. Be sure to exfoliate your lips before wearing it especially if you have dry lips because it can highlight the dry patches on your lips. Another con is that while applying it may feel like it is tugging on your lips.
Overall, if you want to try orange lipsticks I recommend trying this at the MAC store. It is my favorite lipstick at the moment and I find myself reaching for it a lot.

NOTW: White with Gold Glitter Gradient

I love doing looks with glitter because they end up looking so chic but the look is so simple to achieve. I chose to pair gold glitter with white nails because I feel like white is so spring appropriate- I love wearing white for spring. Also, I felt like white and gold would pair beautifully.

Products used:
Milani High Speed Fast Dry Nail Polish in "White on the Spot"
Sinful Colors Nail Polish in "All about you"
Wet n Wild Nail Polish in "Clear Nail Protector"

I painted my nails white with the Milani Polish (I found that it streaks a little and it doesn't dry that fast) then I used the Sinful Colors nail polish and I built up the glitter on the outer half of my nail. I made sure that most of the glitter was on towards the tip (to achieve an opaque effect) and added a light coat of glitter on the inner half so it looks like a gradient effect.
