November 2014 Favorites!

November 2014 favorites- Fantasia Hair Straightening Serum, Nyx Blush, Loreal Miss Manga Mascara, Sleek Face Form, Maybelline Nail Polish

I have been MIA with the Favorites posts and I feel terrible but its so difficult to decide which are my favorite products each month- its probably like picking your favorite child (I'm kidding). After much thought and hair-pulling I managed to pick my favorite products of November.

Fantasia Hair Protector Straightening Serum- I suffer from split ends and I don't really understand why. I know that flat ironing my hair is bad but I only do it once a week. Anyway, while I was at the hair salon a few weeks ago the hairstylist recommended this product. I absolutely love this product. It protects my hair, gives it amazing shine and it helps against frizz! Seriously, this is the best product that I have tried for frizz. Whenever it would rain my hair would poof but not anymore plus you get a lot of product for the price you pay.
NYX blush in "Terracotta"- I have been using this blush almost everyday for the past 2 months and I can't believe that I haven't even made a dent in it. It's a pretty warm golden blush with shimmer similar to "Warm Soul" by MAC.
Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish in "Deep in Violet"- This is a beautiful fall/winter shade. It is a dark purple with shimmer. I'm starting to love Maybelline nail polishes, they have a large selection at a great price.
L'oreal Voluminous Miss Manga Mascara- I purchased this mascara due to the fiasco of the Rimmel mascara that I reviewed a week ago. It was on sale at Walmart for $6.97 so I figured why not. I'm glad I picked this up because I totally love it. It lengthens and gives so much volume to my lashes so well and it only takes one coat.
November 2014 favorites- Nyx blush terracotta and sleek face form kit

Sleek Face Form Kit in "Medium"- This kit brings a contour, highlighter, and bronzer. I like the contour and highlight but the bronzer is too orange for my liking. The contour is amazing and you only need a little bit and it blends very well.

Maybelline Color Sensational The Mattes: Divine Wine

MAYBELLINE COLOR SENSATIONAL MATTE LIPSTICK IN DIVINE WINE

Divine Wine is from "The Creamy Mattes" collection of the Color Sensational range of lipsticks. They come in the usual Color Sensational Lipstick packaging but the top is a frosted purple color. Maybelline claims: "Maybelline New York The Creamy Mattes by Color Sensational deliver a burst of bold lip color and a surge of creamy texture in make-a-statement shades, for mattes your lips will love to wear!"
Maybelline Color Sensational The Mattes in Divine Wine: Swatches and Review

These lipsticks are supposed to be matte but not drying on the lips due to the fact that it isnt a true matte like MAC matte lipsticks. Divine Wine is a beautiful dark wine color- perfect for fall. It is long wearing and it lasted approximately 4 hours. Keep in mind, you have to exfoliate your lips and moisturize your lips before wearing this because it will cling to your dry patches. I was very pleasantly surprised that it did not feel drying on my lips. It didn't dry my lips out and during the first couple hours I could rub my lips together and it didn't feel like it was tugging on my lips. Also, it's very pigmented, I only needed two swipes on my lips. This color has become one of my favorite dark lipsticks and I'm probably going to pick up more shades from this line because I love the formulation.

MAC Keepsakes: Rihanna Viva Glamorous Lipsticks

I love Rihanna so when this holiday kit launched I had to have it. Mainly for Rihanna Viva Glam II lipstick, I love bold lip colors and this lipstick is so different and I dig it.

These two lipsticks come in a red glitter bag, it is really cute and I'm definitely going to use it as a makeup bag.

Rihanna Viva Glam is described as a frosty blue red but on me it looks orangey-red. It took 3 swipes to get this pigmentation.

Rihanna VG II is described as a frosty warm mauvey silver. On me it looks mauvey-grey (I applied about 3 swipes) but on other ladies it looks much more grey or brownish-grey. I think this lippie would look fantastic on WOC because it shows up brownish-grey and it looks beautiful on them. This lipstick would look fab paired with Warm Soul blush and a gold eye. The cool thing about this lipstick is that you can pair it with different lipliners and get a different color. I'm planning on using a brown and dark purple lipliner with it.

I got 3 hours of wear with these lipsticks and they do not feel drying at all. However, they transfer so you do have to retouch after eating.
It is so obvious that I love VG II and it's the only reason why I picked this up. I purchased this for $30 and it is a great deal because each lipstick is $16 and plus you get a cool makeup bag for free. Oh, and every cent goes towards helping women, men and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS!

Rimmel Scandaleyes Rockin Curves Mascara Review

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Rockin Curves Mascara
Rimmel mascaras are so good to my eyelashes. The formula is amazing and so far I haven't come across a Rimmel mascara that I didn't like. So when I saw this mascara at the drugstore I wanted to try it.
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Rockin Curves Mascara
This mascara promises to give volume and lift to lashes. What sets this mascara apart from others is its brush. It is a curved brush in the shape of a half "broken heart". Its a really strange shape. Unfortunately, this brush is the reason why I don't like this mascara. Its way too big for my eyes and the mascara gets on my lids if I'm not careful. It takes me a lot longer to apply my mascara because I have to ensure that no mascara gets on my lids (& I don't poke my eye out in the process). No bueno. I do like the formula though, it does add a nice volume to my lashes.

I just wish that companies would stop messing with brush designs and start working on formulas. These big weird shaped brushes are not doing anything for my lashes and small normal sized brushes get the job done well. I don't want a mascara with a brush that I have to be careful with.
