Travel Packing Tips!

After all the stress and excitement of searching and booking your much needed vacation you realize that you have to pack your suitcase. You spend ages wondering what is the weather is like and what fab outfits you should pack. Then reality hits you- you have to pack light because airlines nowadays charge an arm and a leg for luggage. So you have to pack everything you want to bring in your suitcase and make sure it’s not over the weight limit because you’re not trying to pay all those extra fees that those pesky airlines want to charge.

Here are some packing tips to make this stressful experience a little easier.

Roll your clothes!

Rolling your clothes will save up so much space in your suitcase rather than just folding it.
Layer your clothing!
Try to just bring one or two jackets on your trip. Jackets will take up space in your suitcase and it really helps to bring more blouses and tops and then layer with a jacket.

Take advantage of travel friendly products!

Every store has a travel product aisle. I love buying those fun-sized face washes, toothpaste, hair conditioners and shampoos and they are much more practical than packing your big shampoo and conditioner that is in your shower. When it comes to makeup there are also travel sized products. For instance, if you want to save space in your makeup bag you can buy tiny makeup palettes. Yes, they exist.

I saw this little guy while shopping at Ulta a couple weeks ago. It is Smashbox’s Mini Full Exposure Palette. Its super tiny-about the size of a business card and it has 8 neutral shades. 4 shimmers and 4 mattes. This palette is amazing and super functional. It saves sooo much space in your makeup bag.

Bring multipurpose products!

If you want to save space in your suitcase bring products that have more than one purpose. For instance, I always make sure to bring my sweet almond oil with me because I can use it for so many things. I can use it to remove my makeup, facial moisturizer and body moisturizer. You could also bring a makeup palette that contains eyeshadows ,bronzer and blush and that saves up so much space.

Bring versatile clothing items!

Do you really need to bring pairs of pink, red and blue heels? It’s best to bring shoes that will match with most of your outfits so neutrals are your best bet like nude or black. A pair of nude or black heels, flats and sandals- you’re good to go.

Packing is so hard to do because you’re visualizing yourself wearing so many different outfits and you want to be prepared for various different occasions. It’s essential that when you’re packing your clothes you know what you’re going to pair everything with and that way you’ll be sure of what to bring.
I hope these tips helped you.

Christmas Nail Art #2

Out of all of the holidays of the year I love Christmas which is kind of weird of me to say because I am  not that person who loves to hear Christmas songs and all of that stuff. I guess its my favorite holiday because its a very joyful time of the year and a perfect time to be with family and that's what I love the most.

I went pretty crazy with my nail art this time considering I did different things on each finger but I can definitely tell I was in the Christmas spirit while doing this. I did a candy cane, a reindeer, Santa's coat, a snowflake and Christmas lights. I'm very impressed with this look and I got a ton of compliments on them.

It's pretty easy to do and you don't need any tools to do this. Bobby pins, nail polish and a toothpick will do. I had some nail polish strippers so that helped me but I also used toothpicks to draw the straight lines. I used the round ends of bobby pins to create dots so you definitely don't need any nail art tools to do this.

Candy Cane: I painted my nails red with Wet n Wild's "I Red a Good Book" and then I used a white nail polish striper and I drew diagonal white lines across the nail.

Reindeer: I painted my nails white with Milani's "White on the Spot" then painted almost half of the nail with a brown polish, Naturistic's "Jammin' Java Creme". Then I used a toothpick and drew the antlers with the same brown polish. After that I used the white polish and with one rounded end of a bobby pin I did two white dots for the eyes then I used Wet n Wild's "Ebony hates Chris" and dotted over the white. For the nose I used Wet n Wild's "I Red a Good Book" and dotted that with the bobby pin.

Santa's Coat: I painted my nails red with Wet n Wild's "I Red a Good Book". I drew one white vertical line with the white nail polish striper and a horizontal line on the top of the nail. Then I took a black nail polish striper and drew a horizontal line in the center. When that dried I took my toothpick and dabbed it into a gold glitter polish, Sinful Color's "All About You" and created a little square in the center of the black line.

Snowflake: I painted my nails blue with Nicole by OPI "Nothing Kim-Pares to Blue" then I painted one vertical line with my white nail polish striper and then two diagonal intersecting lines like an *. Next, I took my bobby pin and dipped the end in white nail polish and created a dot on each end of the line and then created 3 dots on the bottom of the nail.

Christmas lights: I painted my nails white then I created a squiggly black line with my toothpick and black nail polish. Then I used a few colors and made dots with bobby pin on the line to resemble lights. I used a blue which was Revlon's Gel Envy nail polish in "Wild Card", a pastel green which was Sinful Color's "Song of Summer", Wet n Wild's "I Red a Good Book" and Sally Hansen's Insta Dri in "Sonic Bloom".

Don't forget to top it all off with your favorite top coat for shine and protection!
You can definitely just do one design or do all of them. I like how fun they are and I had a fun time doing this nail art- it helped distract me from all the exam finals stress.

Which design was your favorite?
How are you rocking your nails for the holidays?

Happy holidays,

Christmas Holiday Nails!

December is my favorite month of the year for a two reasons: the holidays and my birthday. I love doing Christmas nail art and its becoming sort of a tradition for me.

For those who want to have their nails on FLEEK for the holidays but do not have the time to be doing all of that nail art, this is a simpler option.

I used Inm clear bond base coat then I applied a red nail polish. I used Avon matte nail polish in "Red Velvet" but I don't really like matte nails so I applied a top coat over it, Sally Hansen Super Shine top coat. After the top coat dried I applied one coat of Sinful Colors nail polish in "All About You", its a super fine gold glitter polish. Then I layered Wet n Wild's Mega Rocks Glitter nail polish in "Waiting for My Solo" on top of that. To top it all off I applied another layer of top coat and voila!

I love doing this kind of nail art because it looks like you did a lot but it doesn't really require too much work. I also love how the glitter reflects light- it makes your nails look so pretty.

What are you looking forward to the most for the holidays?

Love,

Wet N Wild Megalast Nail Polish in "Wet Cement"

Review of Wet n Wild megalast nail polish in wet cement
It's been a long time since I have posted a nail post. This post is dedicated to my favorite nail polish line EVER, Wet n Wild. Seriously, I say this in all of my wet n wild posts for good reason. Wnw has cheap and fantastic quality products.
Wet Cement is a must have shade if I do say so myself. It's actually one of the most popular shades. It is a mauve-grey color with no shimmer and its a creme finish.
Creme finish = nail polish heaven for me.
I adore the color and the fact that it is a creme finish. It lasts me about 4-5 days without chipping. Wet Cement is really one of those shades that are perfect for fall and winter and I find myself using this polish very frequently.

What is your go to A/W shade?

Review: L'oreal Miss Manga Mascara

Loreal Miss Manga Mascara in Blackest Black
Continuing my hunt for the perfect mascara that will give me that false lash look is Loreal Miss Manga Mascara in Blackest Black. I mentioned this mascara in my November favorites post (Read it here). I purchased this mascara because I needed a better one- I had a Rimmel one and I hated the brush on it. I bought this at Walmart for $6.97.
This mascara features a "360 flexor brush to build bold volume with high intensity from top to bottom". It is a thin brush and its a flexor brush, its like most mascaras whose brush bends. Nothing special and honestly I don't see the point of it. Anyway, I love the brush- it isn't too big for my lashes so it gets the job done. It's the perfect size for my upper and lower lashes.

Here are my bare lashes.
BAM! Here is the result. My lashes look significantly longer, more volume, and darker. I really love how my lashes look and it definitely gives me that false eyelash look that I adore. This mascara lasts all day but I do notice some flaking after about 8 hours of wear but it isn't a big deal.

What is your favorite mascara?

Top Fall/Winter Lipsticks!

Mac Rihanna VG II, Maybelline Matte Lipsticks in Craving Coral and Touch of Spice, L.A Girl Glazed Lippaint in Tempt, Mac Ruby Woo, NYX Soft Matte Lipcream in Zurich and Jordana Lipliners in Cabernet and Coco Loco
Fall and winter are my favorite seasons. I love the cooler weather, the holidays and my birthday! I wanted to share with you all my favorite lipsticks for Fall & Winter. I included various shades of lipsticks from natural to bold and bright because I live for bold lips- I'm more likely to do a bold lip than a bold eye look.
First off, is MAC Rihanna Viva Glam II (Check out my review & swatches here). It is a mauvey-grey lipstick that is super versatile as it looks somewhat different on ladies (on some ladies it looks more grey whereas others it looks brownish-grey) and you can change it up by using a lipliner underneath. I have been obsessed with Maybelline's collection of matte lipsticks- they aren't true mattes but it doesn't matter because they are lovely on the lips and they are not drying. People tend to gravitate to dark lip colors and nudes for fall and winter but I feel like bright colors such as "Craving Coral" are appropriate as well. "Craving Coral" is a gorgeous bright orange color that looks great on most skin tones. If you want to try a bold orange lip but you're afraid, give this one a try. "Touch of Spice" is that Kylie Jenner lip that everyone is obsessed with- its a brown-pink lipstick that I can't get enough of. I love dark lipcolors for fall so when I saw L.A Girl Glazed Lip Paint in Tempt I had to get it. L.A Girl lip paints are very hyped up and for good reason, they are supposed to be dupes for Too Faced Melted Lipsticks. "Tempt" is a dark purple that is buildable- one light coat looks like a berry-purple color and when built up its a glossy dark purple.
A classic red like "Ruby Woo" is a must have; perfect for holiday parties and dressing up outfits. A blue-based red like "Ruby Woo" is perfect for everyone. An awesome nude color is NYX Soft Matte Lipcream in "Zurich" is my favorite nude lipcolor without washing me out.
Jordana Retractable Lip Pencil in Cabernet and Coco Loco are my favorite lip pencils. They are very pigmented- "Cabernet" is a dark berry and "Coco Loco" is a pretty chocolate brown color. I feel like "Coco Loco" is a similar dupe to Limecrime Salem Velvetine because of color, in terms of formulation they are completely different. I have been pairing these lip liners with VG II and I love the way it looks.

Tresemme Keratin Smooth 7 day smooth- Influenster Voxbox

Tresemme Keratin Smooth Influenster Voxbox
Tresemme Keratin Smooth 7 day system
I recently received a tresemme voxbox from Influenster to try and review. For those who aren't familiar with Influenster, it basically is a website where you join for free and they send out products for their members to try. The voxboxes that they send vary and the ones you may receive depend on your interests. For instance, I like beauty so I have been receiving mostly beauty related voxboxes.
I'm very excited to have been able to receive this box because I love straight hair. I have wavy/curly hair but I feel like I look my best when my hair is straight. It is really hard for me to maintain my straight hair because my hair curls up very easily. The humidity wrecks havoc on my hair as well. My hair could be styled to perfection but as soon as I step outside it will frizz up.
My current collection has been doing wonders for me but I'm interested in seeing if this collection will live up to its claims with my difficult hair.

This voxbox includes:
Tresemme Keratin Smooth Shampoo
Tresemme Keratin Smooth Conditioner
Tresemme Keratin Smooth Serum

"Infused with Keratin and made with lower sulfates**, this product gently cleanses and removes impurities. For 7 Days of salon-smooth styles*, use as the first step with 7 Day Keratin Smooth Conditioner and 7 Day Heat Activated Treatment. Gentle enough for everyday use and on color treated hair"

I can't wait to start using this system and I hope it does what it's supposed to do. In two weeks I'll be traveling to Colombia. The city I'm going to is very hot and humid so I'll be definitely be putting these bad boys to the test.

Have you tried this system?
What do you think?

Love,
Liz

** I received these products from Influenster for testing purposes. All thoughts are my own.
