Review | MAC Matchmaster Foundation 6.0

MAC Matchmaster 6.0 review nc42
I have a serious love/hate relationship with this foundation. I want to love it but its just not for me.
I purchased this foundation a few weeks ago and posted it in a haul. I picked this up because Face & Body wasn't in stock and my best friend loves this foundation. I was enthusiastic about trying this foundation as I heard that it gives a very natural finish. Matchmaster promises to give demi-matte finish that looks natural. The pigments in this foundation adapts to match your skintone. It contains SPF 15, is oil free, controls oils, lasts for 8 hours and is non-acnegenic.

Right off the bat, this foundation is more expensive than their other foundations (Retails for $35) so I had high hopes for it. I was matched to a 6.0 (for reference I'm NC42). When swatched 6.0 does look darker than NC42 but it matched my face well so their claim about the pigments in the foundation are true. Automatic thumbs up for having a pump. I tend to use about 2 pumps for my face and I like using a stippling brush to apply. A Beauty Blender works well but it sheers the foundation a bit. It looks very natural on my skin and it held up very well throughout the day (12-13 hours of wear). This foundation did not fade or settle into my pores. You may want to blot during the day if you're oily because it does not totally control oil but it is not a major problem if you blot.

After a couple days of continued use I broke out... On my left side, I had little breakouts that appeared to be milia and on the other side four cystic bumps. That is when I realized that I am allergic to MAC foundation- I had a similar experience when I tried Mineralized Moisture but I thought I was only allergic to the ingredients in that foundation. I wonder what is in MAC foundations that irritates my skin. As much as I like this foundation I cannot continue using it and Matchmaster is going back to the MAC store.

Have you tried this foundation before?
