Collective Makeup Haul | NYX, Beauty Bakerie, Wet n Wild, Artist Couture, La Splash & L'oreal

This month I went a little crazy makeup shopping. I feel a little disappointed in myself because I planned on doing a no-buy this month but there have been nonstop sales and I couldn't help myself. Most of my haul consists of liquid lippies and indie makeup brands I found on social media.

As you can see, I have a little obsession with liquid lipsticks- I blame it on Youtube and Instagram. I found Beauty Bakerie on twitter and saw their #nosmudge claim regarding their liquid lipsticks. I saw their #nosmudge videos and I was automatically intrigued. They retail for $20 and most of their shades are always sold out. I bought their lip whip in Mon Cheri to try and see if I want to buy more. Mon Cheri is a beautiful blue red and the formula is fantastic. Review coming veryyy soon.

I'm late to the NYX lip lingerie party. They're always sold out in Ulta but I managed to find one last Beauty Mark. Beauty Mark is a pretty chocolate brown shade and I picked it up because I wanted a better alternative to Colourpop Limbo as its so drying. I love this formula; its very comfortable and feels long wearing. It reminds me of their Soft Matte Lip Cream.

I placed an LA Splash order as I heard really good things about them. I follow them on Instagram and I saw them post about their LE Metallic lipstick range. When I saw Catrina, I knew I had to have it. It's a blue brown shade like MAC's Blue Brown pigment and I honestly really like these kinds of colors. The only downside is the scent- it literally smells like paint when you first apply it but once it dries, you can't smell it.

Artist Couture belongs to Mac Daddy on Instagram. Recently, I've been ODing on highlighter and shining like a diamond. I follow Artist Couture on IG too and their diamond glow powders seem to give you highlight for days. I picked out Conceited because its a peachy-rose gold shade and I don't have any highlighter like that in my collection. I can't wait to start using it.

I'm a huge Wet n Wild stan. They have come out with a ton of new stuff for spring and I decided to pick up the Megaliner in Voltage Blue. It's a bright blue liner. I think I'm gonna love it since I love the regular black megaliner.

I had to repurchase my HG mascara, Loreal Miss Manga. It does everything for me, lots of length and volume. I don't know why I ever strayed from it. I got the Dark Angel version and I don't know what makes it different from the regular version- maybe its darker? Regardless, I can't wait to start using it and get that false lash look.

Haircare Edit | Hask Monoi Coconut Oil Shampoo, Conditioner, Deep Conditioner, & Oil

We are all aware of coconut oil's magical abilities: moisturizer, amazing for your hair, as a makeup remover, for cooking, fixing your credit score, balancing your checkbook, updating your resume, and more. My hair is very annoying- it can get greasy very easily at the roots but very dry at the ends. I've tried a lot of shampoos and conditioners and I gave up on my hair thinking that I just have to deal with it being so unmanageable. Until, I started using the HASK Monoi Coconut Oil line.

To be honest, the thing that most intrigued me about this line is because... coconuts. I love the smell of coconuts and to me scent is one of the most important things about a haircare product. I need it to smell bomb. I was so pleased that this line has a pleasant subtle coconut scent. However, I also needed it to do something about my bipolar hair.

I would use this system and then style my hair as per usual. I found that the roots of my hair isn't greasy and my hair is super shiny. The shampoo and conditioner are very cleansing and nourishing. Although, I noticed that the shampoo doesn't really lather up but that's due to it being sulfate free but I'm not complaining.

The monoi shine oil is interesting in the sense that its more a thicker oil but it doesn't weigh my hair down at all. I really love this system- it does everything that I want it to do to my hair and I can totally see myself repurchasing once I run out. I really appreciate the fact that its sulfate free and paraban free. It's hard to see a lot of companies take interest and remove harmful chemicals from their products.

Retails: $5-7 each

Colourpop Lippie Stix Grunge & Tootsi, StingRAYE Ultra Matte Lip

Colourpop Lippie Stix Grunge & Tootsi, StingRAYE Ultra Matte Lip

I had a love/hate relationship with Colourpop after trying their liquid lipsticks last summer. I love that Colourpop is so inexpensive, their eyeshadows are bomb, and they have a large color range for all of their products. I really didn't like their Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks although it seems to be one of their well loved products. I reviewed a couple shades last summer when they first launched and I was very disappointed in the formula as they're so drying.

When Itsmyrayeraye launched her collection with Colourpop in November I knew I had to order because she's one of my favorite youtubers and I just had to support. I ordered StingRaye, an Ultra Matte Lip and two lippie stix: Grunge and Tootsi.

I was very apprehensive of StingRaye because I was afraid that it was going to be very uncomfortable on my lips and drying. Surprisingly, the formula is very different- it feels more comfortable on my lips, doesn't dry as fast so you have more time to apply it, very pigmented, and not as drying as my other Ultra Matte lips that I own. Did Colourpop reformulate their liquid lipsticks? Because if so I need to buy more shades.
I also really adore this color- its a purple-mauve shade that looks beautiful on ALL skin tones.

Tootsie is a very pretty greige color. I bought this particular shade because I wanted to experiment with this color and I didn't want to buy Limecrime's cashmere liquid lipstick. I love the color on myself and its very pigmented and not drying on my lips whatsoever.

Grunge is a beautiful plum brown that has become one of my favorite everyday lippies. Insanely pigmented and not drying. This is one of those shades that will look amazing on all skin tones.

I'm very happy to say that I love these lippies that I got from Colourpop. Lippie Stix are amazing- I love the color selection and they are an all around amazing product. Ultra Matte Lips retail for $6 and lippie stix retail for $5. Super inexpensive and I definitely recommend checking out their lippie stix. StingRaye is becoming one of my favorite lip colors and I totally recommend you check it out.

Worth the hype? Morphe 35O palette

I finally got my hands on the coveted Morphe 35O palette. After a long time of debating whether it is worth the purchase or not I saw on Instagram that it was back in stock and I bit the bullet and purchased it. The Morphe 35O palette is full of mostly warm brown and orange copper tones that are so beautiful- no wonder its so popular. It was always out of stock so quickly and people resorted to paying exorbitant amounts of money on ebay and amazon to get their hands on it because they thought it was limited edition. People, please do not pay an arm and a leg for this palette as you can buy it from Morphe when it comes back in stock which seems like its every couple of weeks.

The 35O palette consists of warm brown and orange-copper tone shadows. The shadows range from matte to shimmery shades that will please every makeup lover. The only downside is that this palette lacks a matte black shadow.
Ingredients: Talc, Mica, Mineral Oil, Kaolin, Titanium Dioxide, magnesium Stearate, Isopropyl Palmitate, Lanolin, Methylparaben. May contain:Mica and titanium Dioxide, Iton Oxides, Magnese Violet, Ultramarine Blue, Chrome Oxide Green, Hydrated Chrome Oxide Green, FD&C Red No.40 Al Lake, FD&C Yellow No.5 Al Lake, FD&C Blue No.1 Al Lake.

Another downside are the ingredients as it contains Mineral Oil and Titanium dioxide but then again, you get what you pay for. This palette consists of 35 shadows that are the size of a quarter so you get a lot of bang for your buck.

Row 1:

Row 2:

Row 3:

Row 4:

Row 5:

Some of the shadows are not very pigmented as you can tell from the first two rows. Some are a little powdery and not buttery like Lorac eyeshadows but you can make them work. I'm a fan of the last three rows- I really like the brown, gold, and orange shadows. Mind you, the shimmery shades are more pigmented than the matte shades.

All in all, this palette is worth the hype and I regret not purchasing it earlier. The colors are right up my alley and I can't wait to start experimenting with them. The only downside to the Morphe 35O palette is its ingredients as some of them have been linked to cancer such as mineral oil, titanium dioxide, and parabens. If you aren't concerned about the ingredients then it can be a great palette for someone who is on a budget or building up their makeup collection.

Have you tried any Morphe products?
If so, which ones are your favorite?

January 2016 Beauty Review

wet n wild comfort zone kiss strip lash adhesive hempz lotion muac radiance peel

January has come and gone and it feels like this month has flown by. I spent a good amount of January traveling and I spent a lot of time shopping from my makeup stash. I've made a few purchases but you'll probably hear my thoughts on those in February. I have a really good feeling about 2016 and I hope to consistently post a beauty review every month this year.

Wet n Wild Comfort Zone Palette: My favorite inexpensive neutral palette from the drugstore. I've owned this palette for almost 5 years and maybe its time to get a new one- but, as you can see I have given this palette a lot of love. This palette is so versatile and you can get loads of daytime and nighttime appropriate looks. Definitely a must have palette from Wet n Wild.

Kiss Ever EZ Strip Lash Adhesive: This adhesive has made it so easy to apply falsies as the applicator makes it foolproof to apply the right amount of glue on the lash band. I love how this adhesive doesn't irritate my eyes. Other lash adhesives that I've tried before would irritate my eyes and my eyes would tear up- ultimately, a corner of my falsies would lift up in public. Embarrassing. But, I no longer have this issue this glue.

HEMPZ Pomegranate Herbal Body Moisturizer: I used to rely on The Body Shop's Coconut Body Butter to moisturize my hands but my skin has been very dry this month as it usually gets during this time of the year. This year my skin has been doing the most because my hands have been as dry as the Sahara Desert. HEMPZ does the trick- its a great moisturizer, it doesn't give a greasy feeling, and I love the scent.

MUAC Radiance Peel: I've been using this peel for 2 months. This is an Alpha Beta Peel and it is supposed to work well with all skin types. I was veryyy afraid of using peels as I've heard of horror stories of women getting chemical burns from them. However, this is very gentle and just make sure you follow the instructions. I've noticed great results- I use it once a week and my skin feels so smooth and soft after using.

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in StingRaye: I bought this the second I found out it launched because I love Itsmyrayeraye. I hated the formula of Ultra Matte lips but for some odd reason the formula of StingRaye is a lot more comfortable on my lips. The color is a lovely dark purple mauve that I'm in love with. Finally, I found an Ultra Matte Lip that I can actually wear.
